My name is Natasha Gambrell. I am the great-great-great granddaughter of John Randall and Abby Fagins. I am the daughter of Valerie Gambrell, current Tribal Councilor. I have been dancing Eastern Blanket, Jingle, and Northern Traditional since the age of eight. I’ve represented at several powwows and continue to do to this day. At 16, I was crowned Ms. Eastern Pequot.
I’ve actively participated with the Archeology Field School Collaborative with UMass Boston since 2008 and most recently in 2018. I’ve traveled to several local schools and colleges, speaking on behalf on my tribe.
In 2015, I graduated from Eastern Connecticut State University with a B.A in English. I am currently working as Intervention Specialist at a local high school.
In 2017, I was elected to Tribal council as a councilor, where I currently serve with both my mother and brother. It is one of my greatest accomplishments. My passion is representing my tribe and telling our story.
